WHAT WE DO: PROGRAMME AREAS

  1. The Community Based Healthcare Financing (CBHF) Programme;-

Activities

  •  Promotion of Community based healthcare Insurance
  • Technical support to communities  in determining benefit packages
  • Methodological support in designing of insurance schemes
  • Empowerment and training of community leaders in various related modules
  • Networking with other actors in the health sector
  • Lobbying and advocacy for community health financing at local and national  levels

 

  1. Community-led Accountability and governance in health (C-LAG) project.

      The main objectives of this project are:-

a) Enhancing of citizen participation and advocacy in government’s planning,    budgeting and delivery of health related social programmes.

                                                Activities

  • training community leaders on principles and guidelines for citizen/ public participation during the county planning & budgeting process;
  • Training community leaders and health workers on the county budgeting process and their role in advocacy for increased health budgets;
  • Supporting the trained leaders in drawing memoranda / make submissions during/ in public participation forums, particularly related to health projects;

b) Enhance effectiveness and responsiveness to service users in health facilities.

 

                                                      Activities

  • Trainings for community health committee (CHCs) and facility management committees (FMCs) on their roles/ responsibilities in ensuring improvements in health service delivery;
  • trainings on monitoring the implementation of health projects in their localities;
  • Publicizing of health facility service charters & complains/feedback mechanisms;
  • Community sensitization on referral system;
  • Conducting of community score cards among other activities.
